Biographic Notes
Nick K. Anifantis was born in Samos, Greece (1955). He received his Mechanical and Electrical Engineering Diploma from the University of Patras (1978). After serving as Research Assistant at UP (1978-1982) and working in Greek Industry, he served Greek Army (1982-1983), and received his PHD degree from UP (1985). He elected Lecturer (1986), Assistant Professor (1990), Associate Professor (1995), and later, Professor (2001) of Structural and Machine Design at UP, where he has been ever since. In 1991-1992 he spent his sabbatical as a Visiting
Professor at Washington University in St. Louis. He is Director of Machine Design Laboratory (2005), Deputy Head of the Mechanical and Aeronautics Engineering Department (2009-2011), Dean, School of Engineering, UP (2010-2014) and Head of the Mechanical and Aeronautics Engineering Department (2018-2020). He maintains research interests in the areas of computational engineering technology. He has more than 95 publications in referred journals, over 80 Conference papers, 9 Book chapters, and he has edited over 20 Technical Reports, Textbooks and Laboratory Manuals. He is a member of the ASME and the Technical Chamber of Greece. He is also a registered Mechanical and Electrical Engineer in Greece.
