Biographic Notes

Born in Missolonghi, Greece, on July 5, 1950. He received the Diploma degree in Physics from the National Kapodistrian University of Athens, Greece, in 1973, the DEA degree in Gas and Plasma Physics and the Ph.D. degree from Universite de Paris Sud, Centre d Orsay, France, in 1975 and 1978 respectively. From September 1975 to June 1978 he was a member of the T.F.R. Group, at the Nuclear Research Center of Fontenay-aux-Roses. From September 1978 to March 1979 and from February 1980 to June 1981 he was a post-doctoral researcher in Electricite de France (EDF), at the "Nuclear Reactors and Exchangers" Service. Since 1982 he has worked at the Department of Mechanical Engineering of the University of Patras, where he holds the position of Associate Professor. From September 1989 to October 1990, he was a Visiting Scientist at the Institute of Systems Engineering and Informatics, European Union, Joint Research Centre, Ispra, Italy. His main research interests are numerical and analytical methods in heat transfer and electromagnetic field computation, modelling of coupled electromagnetic-mechanical and electromagnetic - thermal systems, and non-destructive testing in conductive materials.
