LEARNING OUTCOMES
The main objective of this course is to introduce and provide the basic knowledge on the subjects of machinery diagnostics and prognostics. After successful completion of this course, the student will acquire new knowledge and skills on these subjects and she/he will be able to understand:
- rotating machinery diagnostics-prognostics problems
- the importance of diagnostics and prognostics in rotating machinery maintenance
- the principles on which rotating machinery diagnostics and prognostics methods are based on
- the operation of data acquisition systems
- and use the fundamental methods of rotating machinery diagnostics in the time and frequency domain
- and use the fundamental methods of rotating machinery prognostics
In addition, she/he will be able to:
- record and process stochastic and deterministic vibration, acoustic or any other type of signals
- apply the above-mentioned methods using software like MatLab and ANSYS
