COURSE CONTENT
Product and service production processes. Process design. Product and service development. Supply and distribution networks. Layout and flow. Work design. Production planning and control. Capacity management. Resource planning and control (MRP, ERP). JIT and lean production. Performance measurement and improvement. Project design and resource organization. Project planning and control (CPM, PERT). Project financing .Exception handling/crashing. Risk management.
LEARNING OUTCOMES
This course aims at introducing the basic concepts and tools employed in the development and management of business units for the production of products and/or services, as well as for the design and management of projects. After completing the course, students will be able to:
- Participate in development of production units according to business objectives by using modern approaches
- To manage effectively the resources of production units (technological and human) for the production of products and/or service according to demand.
- To participate in production improvement processes.
- To plan and control projects (construction, technology development, etc) according to cost, time and quality requirements.
- To manage the risks in projects
