Straight line motion, Vectors, Motion in 2D and 3D, Force and motion (Newton’s laws), Kinetic energy and work, Potential energy, Energy conservation, Linear impulse and momentum, Static equilibrium, Introduction to fluids, Electrical charge, Electric fields, Gauss law, Electric potential, Magnetic fields, Electromagnetism, Inductance and induction.
LEARNING OUTCOMES
The goal of this module is to provide with the student of Mechanical Engineering & Aeronautics the basic knowledge on Mechanics and Electromagnetism. This background is fundamental for a series of higher level undergraduate modules such as Mechanics-Statics, Mechanics-Dynamics, Mechanics-Vibration, Strength of materials I,II , Electrical circuits and electric machines etc.
