LEARNING OUTCOMES
The course aims to provide to the student the deep knowledge of the different flow magnitudes, the methodology and the measuring instrumentation and to analyse the parameters that influencing the measurement of each flow magnitude such as: the pressure, the velocity the flow rate, the temperature, the viscosity and the shear stress of the fluids.
The main learning outcomes expected are:
- Students know the role of the different instruments such as: manometer, anemometer, flow rate meter;
- Students know how to select the suitable instrument, how to install it and how to manipulate;
- Students are able to perform calculations to find out the experimental uncertainty taking into account the measurement error and the instrument sensitivity.
The course knowledge is exploited mainly in the framework of the experimental part of a Diploma Thesis.
